Crafting is a Work of Heart | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

Hello, everyone! I hope you had a beautiful 4th of July and enjoyed some lovely fireworks, if that’s your sort of thing!

Last week I signed up for Splitcoaststampers’ monthly “Tickle a Teapotter” challenge, in which we’re given the opportunity to surprise a fellow SCS member with a card along the lines of whatever the challenge is that month, something I enjoy signing up for when the timeframe suits me as it’s a thrill to make a card for another cardmaker!

A thrill, and a bit scary, too… I am always a bit worried they’ll notice any oopsies that non-cardmakers would likely be entirely immune too. 😉

Flowers Always and Always – Thinking of You card with Colorado Craft Co & Anita Jeram designs | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

Sunday (April 3rd) was National Find A Rainbow Day – did you celebrate? “Rainbows are caused by the reflection, refraction, and dispersion of light in water, resulting in a visual spectrum of light appearing in the sky, taking the form of a multicolored arc. They always appear on the side of the sky directly opposite to the sun.” (Source: National Today)

Regardless of what you think when you see a rainbow, chances are if you think back to childhood, you remember the awe and joy you felt when you were graced with one in the sky. Or maybe, like me, that still happens for you today!

Chances are, too, that you know someone right now who could use a rainbow to cheer them up. And for that very reason, I created this card for a friend who is undergoing cancer treatment. Though no prognosis is the final answer, hers isn’t a good one, and could use all the prayers and support she can get.

DECEMBER Fan Club Challenge sneak peeks! – | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

Good morning, folks! How was your Christmas? Can you believe that we’re already a few days past?!

I am just popping in to say the December Fan Club challenge is LIVE for all Fan Club members – and the gallery is FULL of fun, stunning, and creative ideas!

Here’s a quick and dirty roundup of sneak peeks of my gallery additions for the month. (In posting this, I realize I never posted Novembers – OOPS! I’ll be back in the coming days with that roundup as well!) I hope you enjoy what you see!

“Search for the Lord and for His strength;

seek His face always.”

Psalm 105:4 (HCSB)

December’s gallery launch completes my time on the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Team – it was a whirlwind and went so quick! I will forever be grateful for being included in this group of talented paper crafters! Thank you to Lydia, Dina, and all the others who organize the group, the monthly themes and inspiration, and for all my fellow DD ladies and gents – you are all amazing!!!!

Before I go today, I just want to mention that I sure hope you’ll pop in and see what the rest of the “Dirties” have been up to this month… and join in with a few creations of your own! If you do, I would SO love it if you would take a second to let me know – I would be tickled to check out what you make!

For more information as to why this is just a glimpse and not the full-on “real deal” I usually post, please check out this post where I shared some exciting news!

Blessings,

Chrissy

OCTOBER Fan Club Challenge sneak peek # 3 – with Colorado Craft Company | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

As I mentioned last week, he October Fan Club challenge is LIVE for all Fan Club members – and the gallery is continuing to impress me with the variety and talent there!

Do you love fall? Or rather, “autumn (as seems more befitting a name for such a glorious season!)?”

As a youngster, I though fall was (and still is) my favorite season, I struggled with an immense amount of anxiety around both the start of a new school year and the pressure of trying to be perfect in my studies. As most children undoubtedly do, the bullies didn’t help the experience one bit, either. One of the things I longed for during the school day was to get home, hop off the bus, sit my backpack inside, and lose myself in a pile of crisp, earthy leaves in the front yard – preferably with the assistance of our black lab.

Of course, in farm country, wind is a regular thing, and whatever pile may have been raked previously would usually be strewn about, so with the aid of a wooden-handled rake (and blisters to prove it!), or with the sweep of the side of my shoe (reference blisters, above… lol), I’d do my best to reform the pile to as deep as the leaves could get… and, truly, big or small, I saved them all for that pile.

As does this perfectly poised lady, grasping her stunning bouquet!

“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.”

Romans 8:28-29 (AMPC)

I’m halfway through my time on the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Team and still loving and appreciating every second of it. I sure hope you’ll pop in and see what the rest of the “Dirties” have been up to this month!

July Fan Club Challenge Sneak Peek: Pile of Thanks | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

Good morning, everyone, and happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! Talk about a reason to celebrate, right? I’m jumping in today with another sneak peek of what you’re missing out on if you’re not a Splitcoast Fan Club member – something you can celebrate every day, holiday or not!

For more information as to why this is just a glimpse and not the full-on “real deal” I usually post, please check out this post where I shared some exciting news! I did include the backstory here though for a little reading for you. 🙂

Last month, our kitty took a sudden turn to illness on a Thursday afternoon, not acting like himself at all. After observing him closely and drawing on my knowledge from and experience in the veterinary world, I knew I couldn’t let it get to the weekend without having a professional opinion and a veterinary visit.

With a new clinic down the road recently opened by a veterinarian I had respect for, I gave them a call first thing Friday morning after praying for the chance to have him seen, same day, at this small two-doctor practice. Anyone familiar with small veterinary practices in Northern Minnesota, in the summer, on a Friday, knows that this chance was basically slim to none.
