About

I am a follower of Jesus, wife to an amazing man, and “fur mom” to a dream of a horse and the sweetest kitty you’ll ever meet.  I am employed full-time in a financial job, but am also a credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT – 2014) and a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist (ESMT – 2021).  I spend my free time with my horses, making cards, or on my snowmobile (in the winter).  I love nature and the outdoors and many of my creative ideas are inspired by nature.  I started this blog as a way for me to keep track of past projects so I can look back on them in the future should I ever wish to do so.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will take a minute to let me know what you think of my creations!

From my Split Coast Stampers Design Team profile:

Hello, everyone! Let me start of by just saying: “OH MY GOSH!” I truly cannot believe I’ve been invited to be a part of the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen! To say it was a dream of mine would be telling a fib, because the truth is I never ever thought I had what it would take to roll with the talented papercraft artists that have been through it’s ranks. Full disclosure: I still don’t think I do but I’ll do my best for the Splitcoast Community and the current and past DD members!

My name is Christine (Chrissy for short) and I’ve been a member of Splitcoast since 2005 (fresh out of high school!) – right about the time when my mom told me she had a grand idea to make all our Christmas cards that year by hand using stamps, paper and ink. To be honest, I thought she was a little nuts, but soon found myself helping her and not long after, realized I was addicted. The small drawer of rubber stamps we once shared between the two of us has grown a bit to say the least, and we still enjoy getting together to craft when we can. I can’t recall how I found this little piece of Heaven on the internet (aka SCS), but I know once I found it I knew I’d found my people. Everyone here is always so kind, so encouraging, so caring, and so incredibly talented! I have learned so much from fellow crafters I’ve had the pleasure of following through SCS, as well as the many amazing tutorials and challenges the community offers us.

So who am I really? First and foremost, I am a Christian and a grateful follower of Jesus, to Whom I credit for all the good things in life! I live in Bemidji, MN with my incredible husband of 6 years, and together we are “parents” to a horse and a cat presently. I grew up with animals of all varieties (horses, cats, dogs, rats, hamsters, birds, and even a few mallard ducks… that’s a story for another day!), and have always had a deep love and respect for all things animals. I now work full time doing accounting work but also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology and volunteer my time as a licensed CVT when I am able to and am pursuing licensing as an equine massage therapist. Besides being horse crazy and spending most of my free time making cards, I enjoy reading, snowmobiling, water-coloring, photography, nail polish, baking, and the beauty of nature (especially sunrises and sunsets!). Admittedly, the horse crazy part takes up most (or basically all) of that free time, and the cardmaking anything that’s left over, but I’m always shooting for the stars in terms of what I want to accomplish outside of working hours.

Though my cardmaking style has continued to evolve over the years, the purpose behind it has remained the same: I love sending “paper hugs” to others in hopes that when they receive one it will bring them a little cheer. We’re all fighting a card battle, after all!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and meet me! I look forward to meeting you all here on the pages of SCS, too!
