Here it is May already, and not only May but we’re looking straight ahead at Mother’s Day being just a few days from now. I hope whether or not you’re blessed to be a mom or get to celebrate with your mom, or hold just memories of your dear mom, that your weekend is blessed and beautiful. I’m sending love to each of you!
My husband and I are incredibly blessed to have our mothers with us, and are looking forward to spending some time with each of them this weekend. Of course, of all people I want to make a card for (aside from my husband of course!), our mothers are at the top of the list!

Continue reading “Happy Mother’s Day! 2023 | DancesWithHooves Paper Design”Ah, to be a kid again! I remember looking forward with great anticipation to getting to play dress-up for much of the day, getting to “be” whomever I chose. For me, I remember a mix of things, but the pictures that stand out in my memory include a brown cat (not sure what rummage sale mom found that suit at – I was probably old enough to know I liked kitties and animals in general, but probably not old enough to speak their names!), ghosts, princess (what girl wasn’t?), an angel, Laura from Little House on the Prairie (one of my favorites!), and my all-time favorite: Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. (I told you that was my favorite movie as a kid! ;))
As an adult, we still need to have fun from time to time, though few of us allow that to happen much of at all. (Other’s are in the opposite camp, but that’s a story for someone else’s home on the web. 🙂 I decided to have a little fun this weekend with the sketch challenge posted by my friend Mary of Up North Stampin’. And fun I had! And a lot of inky fingers – better yet!

God and my Savior, Jesus Christ, above all else, and then my husband (followed by my parents, then of course the critters in my life. Though not always perfect in my execution of this order, it remains set in stone.
So when I say I try realllly hard to make something special for my husband when I make him a card, I truly mean it! And his birthday this week is no exception.

Sometimes, a simple card turns into quite the project amid life’s constantly-evolving events, and such is the case with this set of cards. I started it the weekend before last, finished them last weekend, and then, one by one, sent them off into the world via the good ol’ postal service this past week. (In fact, the final one is awaiting the mail as I write this as I try to decide which, of two people that come to mind, is most in need of a paper hug right now).
I’ll keep this post short, simple, and picture-heavy – precisely the way I prefer posts that I want to “read” to be. It’s information overload on an average day for all of us, and right now that has reached new, incredible proportions for us all.
