SC887 Minnesota Birthday | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

Popping in real quick this morning to share a card I made this past weekend for a fellow Minnesotan and resident of my current city whose birthday is coming up soon!

We’ve got a fun group of ladies on SCS from Minnesota who keep in touch, which is how I “met” this individual. Naturally, for her birthday, I wanted to use our town’s mascot as the featured theme – Paul Bunyan (and Buffalo Plaid!)

DECEMBER Fan Club Challenge sneak peeks! – | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

Good morning, folks! How was your Christmas? Can you believe that we’re already a few days past?!

I am just popping in to say the December Fan Club challenge is LIVE for all Fan Club members – and the gallery is FULL of fun, stunning, and creative ideas!

Here’s a quick and dirty roundup of sneak peeks of my gallery additions for the month. (In posting this, I realize I never posted Novembers – OOPS! I’ll be back in the coming days with that roundup as well!) I hope you enjoy what you see!

“Search for the Lord and for His strength;

seek His face always.”

Psalm 105:4 (HCSB)

December’s gallery launch completes my time on the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Team – it was a whirlwind and went so quick! I will forever be grateful for being included in this group of talented paper crafters! Thank you to Lydia, Dina, and all the others who organize the group, the monthly themes and inspiration, and for all my fellow DD ladies and gents – you are all amazing!!!!

Before I go today, I just want to mention that I sure hope you’ll pop in and see what the rest of the “Dirties” have been up to this month… and join in with a few creations of your own! If you do, I would SO love it if you would take a second to let me know – I would be tickled to check out what you make!

For more information as to why this is just a glimpse and not the full-on “real deal” I usually post, please check out this post where I shared some exciting news!

Blessings,

Chrissy

OCTOBER Fan Club Challenge sneak peek # 3 – with Colorado Craft Company | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

As I mentioned last week, he October Fan Club challenge is LIVE for all Fan Club members – and the gallery is continuing to impress me with the variety and talent there!

Do you love fall? Or rather, “autumn (as seems more befitting a name for such a glorious season!)?”

As a youngster, I though fall was (and still is) my favorite season, I struggled with an immense amount of anxiety around both the start of a new school year and the pressure of trying to be perfect in my studies. As most children undoubtedly do, the bullies didn’t help the experience one bit, either. One of the things I longed for during the school day was to get home, hop off the bus, sit my backpack inside, and lose myself in a pile of crisp, earthy leaves in the front yard – preferably with the assistance of our black lab.

Of course, in farm country, wind is a regular thing, and whatever pile may have been raked previously would usually be strewn about, so with the aid of a wooden-handled rake (and blisters to prove it!), or with the sweep of the side of my shoe (reference blisters, above… lol), I’d do my best to reform the pile to as deep as the leaves could get… and, truly, big or small, I saved them all for that pile.

 As does this perfectly poised lady, grasping her stunning bouquet!

“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.”

Romans 8:28-29 (AMPC)

I’m halfway through my time on the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Team and still loving and appreciating every second of it. I sure hope you’ll pop in and see what the rest of the “Dirties” have been up to this month!

OCTOBER Fan Club Challenge sneak peek # 2 – Boss’s Day Card | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

As I mentioned last week, he October Fan Club challenge is LIVE for all Fan Club members – and the gallery is truly amazing, folks! I am so honored to be a part of such a talented group of designers – they inspire me daily and challenge me to go out on a limb and try new things!

… like this faux watercolor wash,” inspired by the sunset, behind this oldie but goodie Stampin’ Up silhouette set (and a long-standing favorite of mine!). The card, and the sentiment especially, proved to be the perfect combination for a Boss’s Day Card (which happened to be October 16th, for those of you who are wondering 😊) for the supervisor I’ve had for months now but recently was given on a more “permanent” basis. (She’d been doing two jobs, trying to cover most of the duties required of my previous supervisor who left us in July of 2020, and due to the hiring freeze had not been replaced yet).

This card is also a celebration of God’s providence – even when it looks like all hope is lost, sometimes He gives you something in place of what was taken away that makes you realize even though you had it really good, He can do even better for us if He deems it appropriate! All in God’s timing and all in His will – He is SO GOOD to me, but only if I settle down a notch (or ten!) and trust Him to take care of me!

“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved, for You are the one I praise.”

–Jeremiah 17:14

OCTOBER Fan Club Challenge now LIVE! – Watercolored Autumn card | DancesWithHooves Paper Design

The October Fan Club challenge is now LIVE for all Fan Club members – and the gallery is already bursting with amazing creative inspiration!

This card was created for a recent Autumn birthday in our family. I was itching to break out the watercolors and free-hand some pumpkins (easier said than done for a newbie like me!), but had fun in the process and as always learned some things to keep in mind for the future.

I’m halfway through my time on the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Team and still loving and appreciating every second of it. I sure hope you’ll pop in and see what the rest of the “Dirties” have been up to this month!
