My submission for CAS127 – Photo Inspiration Challenge. 🙂

Yes, it’s been forever since I’ve sat down and made a card just to sit down and make a card, without a specific occasion and recipient in mind.  Life throws us curveballs once in awhile and I’ve been dodging a few of those myself.  The desire to get back into regular cardmaking has been building with a fierce force, however, so last night, even though it was late, I sat down determined to make something – anything.  And here is what I came up with!  My inspiration was number one, seeing that our “stockpile” of already-made “thank you” cards was dwindling, and two, something that would be clean and simple and therefore, quick to make!

THANK YOU so much for stopping by!  As always, if you could take a moment to leave me with your comments, leave a link to your card gallery or blog and I’d love to return the favor!

cardAug20of2009bI had a lot of fun with this one!  Today’s card is my “Double Challenge” creation for two different stamping websites this week.  The first is for Tuesday’s Color Challenge #232  (CC232) over at SplitCoastStampers, which challenged us to use the Close to Cocoa/Very Vanilla/Taken with Teal color scheme on our card.  The second was for Thursday’s sketch challenge at the Mojo blog (MOJOSARAH).  They’ve had a lot of great sketches there each day this week as part of their “Mojo Turns 100” celebration, and this is the second special edition sketch I’ve had the pleasure of working with this week.  I highly recommend you go check out their sketches if you haven’t already!

It actually took me quite a bit of time to decide what stamps I wanted to use to make this particular card last night but I knew I really wanted to work with trees.  As much as I adore my Season of Friendship set, it just doesn’t get enough attention, so ultimately I decided to show it a little love and use it for this card.  To add some extra dimension, I outlined the tree trunk and cardAug20of2009cbranches with a Close to Cocoa marker and covered the leaves in clear glitter glue.  The image medallion and small teal panel where then raised up off of the rest of the card with foam mounting tape to really bring your attention front and center.

Thank you for stopping by!  If you have a spare moment, please leave me a quick comment – it would be very much appreciated!  (and don’t forget to leave a link back to your blog or gallery so I can come admire your creations!)

Be sure to check back Sunday to see the card I created for my mom’s birthday – I’ve got the post all ready to go right now but I scheduled it for her actual birthday so I’ll be sure the first she sees of it will be when she opens the envelope! :0)
