I received two Easter cards in the mail over the weekend, and when I thanked the senders I realized I had never really been in the habit of sending cards at Easter, and wondered why not? Easter is perhaps THE most beautiful, hopeful, and grace-filled holiday we are blessed to celebrate as believers in Jesus Christ, and with present circumstances preventing us from spending the holiday with our loved ones this year, I decided to give it an honest effort.
I searched through my stamp collection, thinking I’d perhaps find a not-too-cute image of a sheep (if I had one… most of my sheep are super cute and cartoon-y!) to keep the theme on track. Bunnies are great and all, but to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lamb of God, I wanted a sheep. 😉
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” –Matthew 28:6
My eyes landed on this oldie but goodie Stampin’ Up set, which was meant to be Christmas, but the Lion and the Lamb theme couldn’t have been more perfect to combine with some bright and peaceful pretty spring colors!
I tried my hand at “alcohol ink” blending on some Yupo (I tried a month or two ago – it was a disaster), and after messing with it and I thought ruining it, I busted out watercolor paper and designer paper for the three cards I wanted to make. By the time I finished getting those ready, though, I loved how the yupo background had turned out after all, so bam – one alcohol ink, one watercolor, and one DSP card. Works for me!
Entering these in two challenges, for separate cards in the series.
- CC785 – Flirty Flamingo / Pineapple Punch / Bermuda Bay + “dessert” with the Easter theme – loosely, I’ll admit (I added the purple… sorry!!!)
- WT786 – It’s Knotty Problem – twine bow on the yellow card
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope I could bring a little sunshine into your soul.
Blessings,
Chrissy
